We are currently aware of a problem that affects customers that use Sygic GPS Navigation on Xiaomi devices, or devices running the standard Xiaomi HyperOS Android system. This issue is caused by the system downloader and has started to affect users since Friday June 5th, 2026.
How to fix the map download issue in Sygic GPS Navigation on Xiaomi devices running HyperOS?
We have confirmed reports from customers facing the same issue that the fix to this problem lies in the device settings - a hidden Google Play system update.
- Go to your device settings
- Search for "Google Play System update"
- The correct setting has a subtitle with a specific date, eg. 1 May 2026
- Download the update
- Please make sure you have also downloaded all security and system updates available for your device.
Important - this update will only fix this specific download issue affecting users running Sygic GPS Navigation on Xiaomi devices, or devices running the Xiaomi HyperOS.
Can Sygic fix this so I don't have to look for some hidden update?
We have found a workaround for this issue and are currently planning to release it in version 26.4, our next big update, which is scheduled to be released by the end of June 2026. Details will be updated in this article once we have them available, until then, we kindly ask for your patience.
