Learn how to fix missing voice instructions and warning sounds in Sygic GPS Navigation by checking your license, volume, notifications, and Bluetooth settings.
If voice instructions, warning sounds, or sound notifications are not working in the Sygic GPS Navigation app, this article will help you check the most common causes.
Sound issues may appear in different ways. For example, voice instructions may be missing, too quiet, interrupted, delayed, or played through the wrong audio output.
Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Check your license
You can check your license in the Sygic app:
Android: Menu (☰) → Sygic Store → All your licenses
iOS: Menu (☰) → Sygic Store → Restore/manage purchases
Step 2: Check the volume
Make sure the volume is not muted or set too low. While Sygic is speaking a voice instruction, use the volume buttons on your device to increase the volume.
Android
On Android, volume buttons may control different sound channels. Open the volume menu and make sure media volume is increased. You can also test the voice directly in Sygic by going to:
Menu → Settings → Language & Sounds → Voice
Then play or change the selected voice and adjust the volume while the sample is playing.
iOS
On iOS, you can test and adjust the voice volume directly in Sygic:
Menu → Settings → Language & Voice → Set volume
The app will play a sample voice instruction. While the sample is playing, use your device volume buttons to increase or decrease the volume.
Step 3: Check voice and sound settings in sygic
Try changing the voice used for navigation.
Go to:
Android: Menu → Settings → Language & Sounds
iOS: Menu → Settings → Language & Voice
If you are using a human voice, try switching to a computerized TTS voice.
If you are using a TTS voice, try switching to a human voice.
Please note that changing the voice may also affect warning sound notifications if customized warning sounds are linked to the selected voice.
Step 4: Check Notification Settings
If warning sounds are missing, check whether notifications are enabled in Sygic.
Go to: Menu → Settings → Notifications
Make sure the notification type you need is enabled and not muted.
This may include warnings such as speed limit alerts, speed camera warnings, or other sound notifications.
Step 5: Check Other Apps Running in the Background
If you use Sygic together with other audio apps, such as radio, music, podcasts, or media players, please check the sound settings of those apps as well.
Some apps may have their own volume controls, equalizers, or audio focus behavior. This can make music or radio sound very loud while navigation instructions are too quiet.
If possible, try closing other audio apps and test Sygic again.
Step 6: Check Bluetooth and Car Audio Settings
If your phone is connected to Bluetooth, sound may be played through your car, headset, speaker, or phone depending on your device settings.
Go to: Menu → Settings → Language & Sounds / Language & Voice
Make sure the available Bluetooth options are enabled if you want Sygic to play sound through Bluetooth. Sygic may use either the Media Bluetooth channel, or HFP / Hands-free channel, similar to phone calls
Bluetooth sound behavior can differ depending on the phone, car system, headset, Android or iOS version, and supported Bluetooth profiles. Bluetooth uses different profiles for different audio purposes, such as high-quality media audio or hands-free call audio.
If sound does not work correctly through Bluetooth, try the following:
disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth
check whether media audio is enabled for the paired device
check whether phone call audio / hands-free audio is enabled
restart your phone and car infotainment system
test Sygic without Bluetooth
test Sygic with another Bluetooth device, if possible
Please note that enabling Play over phone speaker may force the app to use the phone speaker only. This option is experimental and may not work reliably on every device.
