Voice and language issues

If you face issues with the Language of the app, please check your language settings first by going to the app's Menu → Settings → Regional Preferences → Language, where you can select the desired language.

What if my app is in English even though a different language is selected?
We are currently aware of this issue, it can affect some users especially after an app update. We are preparing a permanent fix for it, which will be included in one of the future app versions.
In the meantime, you can solve this issue by doing the following:

  1. Please go to the Sygic app's Menu → Settings → tap on the 3-dot button in the top right corner → select "Reset To Defaults".
  2. Restart the app.
  3. Set the desired language again in Menu → Settings → Regional Preferences → Language.

Voice instruction issues

What if I am not able to turn on the voice instructions and I see a „crown“ symbol besides that option in the settings?
To activate the voice instructions you need to have a premium license active, since it is one of the premium feature available within the paid Premium and Premium+Traffic packages.
Voice instructions not working
If you face issues with the Voice instructions, please make sure your settings are set up properly. Below is a quick interactive guide to help you troubleshoot this kind of issue. Simply click the "No" button beneath it after performing the steps to proceed with additional troubleshooting steps:

1. Check your device volume

Make sure your device volume for media/apps is audible. You can do that either by pressing the volume up/down hardware button on your device (the screenshot below displays a situation, when media volume is off and as a result, there are no audible voice instructions).

If there is something else shown when adjusting the volume than media (Ringtone for instance), then please press the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen, right next to the volume adjustment bar.

2. Check your Voice settings

Please go to the Sygic app's Menu → Settings → Notifications and Sounds, and make sure you have the Voice instructions enabled (they are enabled if the indicator beside the option is green).

3. Try a different voice

Tap on the option "Voice" in the same Notifications and Sounds screen from the previous step. Select a different voice and afterward switch back to the desired voice. You can also download additional voices by pressing the green "+" button in the bottom right hand side of the screen.

Tip: We recommend trying both a Standard voice as well as an Advanced voice if your voice issue would be persisting. More voices (Advanced or Standard) can be downloaded in the bottom of the Voice screen.

4. Check Quickmenu settings

Go to the quick menu by tapping on the three-dot button in the bottom right corner of the map, and tap on the „Sounds“ icon there to make sure the Voice instructions mode is selected.
