How to backup your favorites, POIs and routes?
If you have landed on this article, there are most likely three reasons why :
- you have purchased a new phone
- you are going to reinstall Sygic
- you are going to reset your phone to factory settings
Using any file manager app or via your PC, copy the following files and folders :
These folders can be found either in the internal memory, or on the SD card - depending on where the application is stored.
Android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/Android/settings2.dat - Application settings
Android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/Res/db/items.dat - Your saved favorite locations
Android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/Res/itinerary/ - Saved routes
Android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/Res/travelbook/ - Travel book data
If you have a new phone, install Sygic on your new phone and copy the files and folders from the old phone into the same place in the new phone.
If you are going to reinstall Sygic, you can copy the files elsewhere and after reinstalling the application, copy them back to the place where they have been.
If you are going to reset your phone to defaults, make sure that you copy the files on your SD card or into your PC as the internal memory will be erased and you will lose all files. Then install Sygic again and copy the files back to the appropriate folders.
Make sure that the application is not running in the background while you copy the files.
Please note that if you first installed the Sygic GPS Navigation app on your phone in October of 2016 or earlier, the application files may not be found in
Android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/ but instead in a folder called just
Sygic in your internal memory or SD card.
Also, it is not possible to transfer these files between different platforms (e.g. from Android to iOS etc).
