Learn how to update maps in Sygic GPS Navigation, where to check for new map versions, and what to do before starting a map update.
Map updates
Sygic provides regular map updates for all users at no additional cost. Standard map updates are released three times a year - in January, May, and September. Users with Premium+ can receive monthly map updates, for a total of up to 12 updates per year.
Map updates are usually released during the second week of each month. If there is a technical delay, the update may become available later, but it should still be released by the end of the month.
Map updates can include changes such as updated roads, speed limits, turn restrictions, permanent road closures, points of interest, and stationary speed cameras.
How to update maps
Open the Sygic Menu.
Go to Offline maps.
If a new map update is available, tap Update.
Wait until the update is complete.
If you do not see a message that new map updates are available, your map data is already up to date.
Where to find map update information
You can check your current map version in two places in the app.
One option is to go to Menu → Settings → Info → About → Map version.
You can also go to Offline Maps and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner. There, you can see Map information about the recent map update and next update, as well as Downloading preferences.
Important
It is essential to update all maps at once. If you update only some maps, the other maps you previously downloaded may be deleted.
It is recommended to start the update when you have a stable Wi‑Fi connection, enough free storage space, and enough time and battery power to complete the process. Downloading a large number of maps can take time and may use more battery.
Map updates are supported only in the latest version of the app, so it is recommended to keep Sygic updated before downloading new map data.
Map versions may also differ across different Sygic products because of separate development and release schedules.
