What if I am not able to turn on the voice instructions and I see a „crown“ symbol besides that option in the settings?
To activate the voice instructions you need to have a premium license active, since it is one of the premium feature available within the paid Premium and Premium+Traffic packages.
Voice instructions not working
If you face issues with the Voice instructions, please make sure your settings are set up properly. Below is a quick interactive guide to help you troubleshoot this kind of issue. Simply respond "Yes" or "No" whilst performing these various steps to properly troubleshoot it:
1. Check your Voice settings
Please go to the Sygic app's Menu → Settings → Sound and notification → Voice instructions, and make sure you have the Voice instructions enabled (they are enabled if the indicator beside the option is green).
2. Check Quickmenu settings
Go to the quick menu by tapping on the three-dot button in the bottom right corner of the map. If there is Sounds button with an „X“ symbol, this means all the sounds are turned off. Please tap on the Sounds button to turn the sounds on.
4. Reset to defaults
If neither of the previous steps helped, please go to Menu → Settings and tap on Reset to defaults button at the bottom of the Menu. This will effectively reset all your settings in the app, but won't affect your data.
Restart the app afterwards (On an iPhone X or later or an iPad with iOS 12, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps.
Then swipe the Sygic window up.
3. Increase the volume
Please go to the Sygic app menu → Settings → Regional preferences → Voice. Here, click on your selected voice (marked with a green check mark) and you will hear the voice sample. Please note that you need to increase the volume with the button on your iPhone exactly when the sample is played. You can repeat this process several times to increase the sound to maximum. Just make sure you are increasing it exactly when the sample is played.
